Ideal candidates are healthy, non-smoking adults who are at a stable weight yet struggle with loose skin or muscle separation after pregnancy, weight loss, or aging. If you want a flatter, firmer abdomen and have realistic expectations, Dr. Ayeni will confirm your suitability during two pre-surgery consultations.
Dr. Ayeni offers several approaches: full (entire abdomen), mini (below the navel), extended (abdomen plus flanks/hips), high-lateral tension (scar-minimizing), and fleur-de-lis (for significant weight-loss patients). She’ll recommend the smallest incision pattern that meets your contour goals while keeping scars discreet.
Expect 10–14 days of home rest, a return to desk work in about two weeks, light cardio after four weeks, and unrestricted workouts around six–eight weeks—assuming your follow-up visits show normal healing. Wearing a compression garment for six weeks and avoiding heavy lifting are key to optimal results.
Incisions are typically low on the bikini line (and sometimes around the navel) so they hide in underwear or swimwear. Dr. Ayeni’s high-lateral-tension technique spreads tension along the skin, which helps scars remain thin and fade over time with proper care.
